about

Having just premiered my first work for full orchestra with The Seattle Symphony Orchestra last Thursday I thought I'd go back 20 plus years and look at one of my early attempts to write something "orchestral", albeit for jazz orchestra.

This work, "River of Whiskey," has never been released. The recording here is 'live" with a special UK version of the New York Composers.

Recorded at Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, and conducted by Robin Holcomb, this band featured NYCO regulars Bobby Previte, Doug Wieselman, Marty Ehrlich and myself along with a host of great UK musicians including the late Kenny Wheeler.

I hope you enjoy the music.
