about

At at time where my whole music world centered around the music of Cecil Taylor, the Art Ensemble of Chicago etc., "Art Police" was a sort of breakthrough where, for the first time, I began to hear something that combined those sounds with the sounds that had inspired me to begin with.

Music that included everything from Junior Wells and Howlin Wolf, to The Band and the Grateful Dead, The New Lost City Ramblers and the Velvet Underground and so on and so forth. And my debut on harmonica as well.... not that I have repeated it much since. This track isn't the most nuanced version of that musical marriage, but it was a start.
